Measuring experienced disease burden (ExpBoD): estimating the socio-economic, psychological, healthcare and welfare impacts of diseases in Denmark

Measuring Experienced Disease Burden (ExpBoD) will deliver a proof-of-concept to systematically measure the disease burden across multiple non-health dimensions (economic, social, psychological, quality of life, healthcare and welfare) and diseases with Danish registries. As seen in the coronavirus pandemic, governments are expected to manage not only the burden of COVID-19 but its impact beyond health. Rationale

The aim of Measuring Experienced Disease Burden (ExpBoD) is to deliver a proof of concept to systematically measure the impact of several diseases across multiple dimensions in Denmark.


Description of the cohort

The study population is persons living in Denmark from 1995 and onward with censoring at first emigration or death, diagnosed with either breast cancer, depression, or stroke.
