National Experimental Therapy Partnership (NEXT) for dermatology

Short summary

The purpose is to establish a nationwide preparedness for performing clinical research and clinical trials within the field of dermatology.

Rationale

NEXT is established to make Dermatological departments in Denmark attractive partners for the pharmaceutical industry with regards to performing class I and II clinical trials in relation to development of new drugs to treat dermatological diseases.

The focus is on atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Description of the cohort

Patients with atopic dermatitis or psoriasis will be given written information about NEXT and access to a web-based platform where they can get further information about NEXT, and decide whether they will be interested in participating in clinical research trials.

The patients get access to register themselves in the database and decide the level of clinical information they give consent to.

In case a clinical trial is planned the responsible dermatologist contact selected patients fulfilling inclusion criteria and ask whether they want to participate.

The patient can at any time withdraw consent and be deleted from the database.

Data and biological material

Questionnaire data.

At a later stage possibly biologic material and test results.
