This study examines if there is an association between the duration of esports engagement and the association of tension-type headaches (TTH) among adult Danish esports players. Furthermore, this study investigates adult Danish esports players' mental and physical health.
Tension type-headache (TTH) is a common health concern that affects one-third of the Danish population. Tension headache is characterized by bilateral pressure and is often described as a tightening band around the head. Tension headache is associated with sedentary work and poor posture, which can lead to musculoskeletal pain, especially in the back and neck. A Danish cross-sectional study of esports players found that 42% of participants reported musculoskeletal pain, with the majority reporting back pain as the most common site. Prolonged gaming involves the risk of repetitive movements, muscle strain, and muscle pain. Therefore, the study's primary aim is to examine if there is an association between the duration of esports engagement and the association of TTH among adult Danish esports players. Further, the mental and physical health of adult Danish esports players will be investigated in the study.
Participants older than 18 years esports players who are actively involved on a registered esports team, association or club in Denmark.
