Short summary

Osteoporosis is a highly prevalent disease in which non-adherence is a well-recognized problem. Non-adherence may be due to patients´ lack of knowledge, understanding, and involvement.

In this study we aimed to determine the effect of an educational video displayed on a tablet-device. Primary outcome measure was change in knowledge on osteoporosis and treatment.

Description of the cohort

Men and women on once-weekly alendronate treatment visiting the hospital clinic for a follow-up Dual energy X-ray Absorptiometry.

Data and biological material

Baseline demographic and clinical characteristics (comorbidity score, number of co-medications, fracture history, BMD T-scores, years of treatment).

Participants' knowledge on osteoporosis and treatment as measured by a questionnaire (baseline and 2 week follow-up).
