This study aims to investigate whether the COVID-19 pandemic and related measures have caused within the health sector what it has meant for citizens in Denmark, including citizens with health contacts. For example, changes in the number of hospital contacts, mortality, how new procedures affect treatment, and how healthcare is affected across sector boundaries are examined
To reduce the transmission and mortality from SARS-CoV2 – i.e. – most countries have issued ‘shelter at home' orders and have temporarily shut down daycare, schools, industries and most public gatherings.
We report the nationwide consequences of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic on unplanned non-psychiatric and psychiatric hospital visit patterns before and during the ‘shelter at home' period.
