The aim of the study is to investigate if a home test kit of the sperm motility and therefore early knowledge of the male fertility potential, can contribute to elimination of the barrier for men, who have to see a doctor for quicker treatment.
Male fertility factors contribute to approximately 50 % of infertile couples who are trying to conceive. The aim of the study is to investigate if a home test kit of the sperm motility and therefore early knowledge of the male fertility potential, can contribute to elimination of the barrier for men, who have to see a doctor for quicker treatment. Furthermore, through a quantitative questionnaire, the study wants to look at the changes in psychosocial aspects and life quality, when men can do the test in calm and safe environments at home. Two questionnaires are sent out - one at the beginning of the study and a follow-up after 6 months.
The cohort includes men who have tried to conceive with a partner for at least 4 months. The participants are allowed to have kids from other relationships, but it has to be their first baby together.
The recruitment process is done over social media, flyers at campus, and through a database on e-mail.
A spermquality test is done at home and data is collected through a quantitative questionnare.
