ReumaGravid - pregnancies among Danish patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases.

Short summary

In the Region of Southern Denmark a cohort of women with autoimmune rheumatic diseases and a wish for pregnancy is established at "Klinik for gravide med reumatologiske sygdomme" in order to describe the course before, during and after pregnancy with special focus on the outcome of the pregnancy and the course of the autoimmune disease.

Rationale

Pregnancies among women with ARD are more often associated with adverse outcome than pregnancies among women without autoimmune rheumatic diseases. By an observationel study with prospective collection of data on the mother's disease, the pregnancy and the child, supplemented with up to 5 consecutive bloodsamples per pregnancy, potential risk factors for adverse outcomes are investigated

Description of the cohort

Patients included are adult females with autoimmune rheumatic diseases eg rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögrens syndrome, antiphsopholipid antibody syndrome followed at the "Klinik for gravide med reumatologiske sygdomme" at Department of Rheumatology, OUH.

The woman is included if she plans pregnancy and/or a pregnancy is diagnosed. The present study is an observational study with prospective collection of clinical data and blood samples.

Visits are planned before pregnancy, a visit in every trimester and a visit 1-4 months after delivery.

Data and biological material

Biobank includes up to 5 consecutive blood samples (serum and plasma) from mother Data for the study are obtained by interview, clinical examination and scoring of the rheumatic disease, routine biochemical analyzes and by reviewing medical records of mother and child.
