The project will provide a detailed overview of lung cancer treatment and survival in Denmark over the past 10 years . The final results will be compared with similar data from Norway and the Netherlands. We expect to find some international differences in treatment for comparable lung cancer patients, which may impact survival. This will create the basis for subsequent in-depth investigations, which may identify improvement gaps according to best international practice.
Lung cancer is globally the leading cause of cancer deaths. Providing the best possible treatment for all patients is paramount for better survival and the success of cure. National lung cancer registries serve an important role in surveillance of treatment and survival, but more international benchmarking is needed to improve quality of care and secure that all patients receive the best international treatment. Therefore, the aim of this study is to provide a detailed overview of lung cancer treatment and survival in Denmark over the past 10 years (2012-2021) divided into two 5-year periods. These data will be requested from the Danish Lung Cancer Registry. The final results will be compared with similar data from lung cancer registries in Norway and the Netherlands.
All patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in Denmark from 2012-2021.
Data will be requested from the Danish Lung Cancer Registry (DLCR).
