The use of checkpoint-inhibitors (CPI) have improved the survival for patients with melanoma significantly. Hovever, immune related adverse events are common, with immune related diarrhoea/colitis (ir-colitis) being among of most frequent. This retrospective study aims to describe the course of patients afflicted with ir-colitis, with a particular focus on administration of immunosuppressive drugs, the necessity for hospitalization and the overall symptom burden.
The study population consist of melanoma patients who have been treated with CPI and subsequently devolved ir-colitis within the Department of Oncology at OUH. Data are retrospectively collected from December 2013 to December 2023.
All data, including patient and tumor characteristics, are planned to be extracted from the patients' electronic medical records and the national database for metastatic melanoma (DAMMED).
