Patients with unknown primary tumor - time to diagnose and treatment

Short summary

The definition of cancer of unknown primary tumor (CUP) is metastatic malignancy with no obvious primary-site despite adequate radiological examinations and pathological evaluation. Patients with metastatic malignancy. CUP accounts for 2-3 % of all adult malignancies. Patients with CUP often undergoes extensive examinations, which is often time- and resource consuming. In addition, treatment of CUP is difficult because of lack of evidence and proper studies.

In addition, treatment of CUP is difficult because of lack of evidence and studies.

The aim of this study is to evaluate time from first symptom until referral to the department of oncology with CUP. We would also like to evaluate the effect of the treatment the patients are offered at the department of Oncology and overall survival.

Including patients referred to the department of oncology with the diagnose cancer of unknown primary tumor.
