Thermography for critically ill patients in the ED
Short summary
Identifying patients that are critically ill when they arrive at the ED is difficult. We aim to study if using thermography would enable us to identify them earlier.
Rationale
Capillary refill time has been suggested as a means to identify sick patients in the ED. But it is difficult to measure and has a high interobserver variation. We aim to test if capillary refill time or thermography is best at identifying unstable patients in the ED.
Description of the cohort
Patients arriving to the ED and triaged red or orange.
Data and biological material
Vital signs, capillary refill time, thermographic images and outcome data.
