Pregnant women's attitude towards cervical cancer screening during pregnancy - a questionnaire survey

Short summary

Today it is technically possible to screen for cervical cancer during pregnancy. However, it is still unknown whether pregnant women take interest in participating in the screening programme, which is why we wish to investigate that. We have developed a questionnaire, which will be tested within a cohort of pregnant women in Odense and Svendborg Hospital. Data from patients in the pregnancy outpatient clinic will be collected within the Redcap database.

Rationale

Today it is technically possible to screen for cervical cancer during pregnancy. However, it is still unknown whether pregnant women take interest in participating in the screening programme, which is why we wish to investigate that. An advantage of screening during pregnancy could be that women are motivated for participating during this specific period of life. In this way, it would be possible to include a broader population and increase the number of women participating in the screening programme. A disadvantage could be the risk of creating unnecessary worries.
