Real World Data - Treatment of an unselected cohort of patients with gynecologic cancer from 2014-2023

Short summary

We aim to examine outcomes in a cohort of patients with gynecological cancers. In particular, we will focus on patients aged ≥70 years, who are often markedly underrepresented in clinical studies. How do they fare compared to trial populations, and how do they perform relative to patients under 70 years? We will record treatment patterns and survival for all patients with cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers treated at the Oncology Department at Odense University Hospiital from 2014-2023.

Rationale

The incidence of cancer increases with age. Treatment strategies are developed based on clinical drug trials, the results and subsequent recommendations of which are extrapolated to the broader population of cancer patients. However, clinical trials typically include a highly selected group of patients in good general condition without significant comorbidities.

Description of the cohort

Patients diagnosed with a gynecological cancer treated at the department of Oncology, at Odense University Hospital from 2014 to 2023.
