EAt - Dilatation - a retrospective study

Short summary

The primary aim is to assess the pattern of dilatations in esofageal atresia (EA) patients. The secondary aims is to determine if there are any demographic predictors for the infants needing multiple dilations. We expect to see a pattern of increasing degrees of dilatation with increasing size of the infant.

Rationale

Up to 70 % of infants with EA will suffer from stenosis. Balloon dilation during gastroscopy is a well-documented and widely used treatment(18). Currently there is no guideline for the time between dilatation of the anastomosis, as well as how much to dilate

Description of the cohort

The cohort will consist of infants born with EA between 2009 and 2024

Data and biological material

Data will be composed from the GastroPæd database and electronic patient charts
