Short summary

We want to do a quality assurance study to investigate all the placentas that has underwent pathological examination from Odense University Hospital in 2024. Why did we want to examine them, what did the examination show and what were the clinical consequences.

Rationale

There are no clear guidelines for which placentas should be undergoing pathological examination. Therefor the aim of this study is to investigate if there are any clinical consequences of the examination of the placentas. The hypothesis is that we can reduce the number of placentas being examined in a costeffective matter.

Description of the cohort

All patients where the placenta underwent pathological examination from Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Odense University Hospital in 2024.

Data and biological material

Data from the patient journal and the data of the examined placentas from Department of Pathology.
