Short summary

The project is about professional counseling concerning medicine at discharge from hospital. Patients are often discharged without sufficient information about their medication. Therefore we have developed and tested a patient-centered intervention to be used at discharge from hospital, so the patients' satisfaction would increase.  

Rationale

Patients are often discharged without information about their medication, which leads too confusion and frustration when they get home. Our aim was to develop and test a patient-centered intervention to be used at discharge from a general surgical ward. By improving patients' knowledge about medication, our main objective was to enhance patients' satisfaction. 

Description of the cohort

Patients are over 18, speak and understand Danish. Patients are not cognitively imparied and are admitted and discharged from the surgical ward A2 Odense Univerisity Hospital.  

Patient are able to give imformed consent to participate in the project.
