Brystrekonstruktion og patientinddragelse - fælles beslutninger i rekonstruktiv brystkirurgi

Short summary

Reconstructive breast surgery is a fixed part of cancer treatment providing women with more treatment options to consider. Shared decision-making is a process through which patients and providers collaborate to select the best treatment that complies with the patients preferences and clinical context In this study we examine the effect of  the patients decision satisfaction when supplementing our information with short movies about reconstructive breast surgery.

Rationale

Reconstructive breast surgery is a fixed part of cancer treatment providing women with more treatment options to consider. In Denmark more than 64.000 women live their daily lives after surgical treatment for breast cancer. When women are diagnosed with breast cancer, there is 2 weeks to decide and plan a surgical treatment.

Shared decision-making is a process through which patients and providers collaborate to select the best treatment that complies with the patients preferences and clinical context. In this study we examine the effect of  the patients decision satisfaction when supplementing our information with short movies about reconstructive breast surgery.

Description of the cohort
