Lichen Sclerosis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease affecting 1/300-1/1000 women per year.
Typical symptoms are itching, pain and shrinkage of the tissue that affects the physical, psychological and sexual wellbeing and it is associated with an increased risk of malignity.
Laser treatment (Easy Laser) of LS is sporadically described in case reports, and with good effect. Our study is an uncontrolled observational study, and the aim of the study is to look at the short and long-term effects of laser treatment evaluated by different evaluation tools, describing the effect on quality of life more precisely than the more commonly used Visual Analogue Scale.
Lichen Sclerosis (LS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of unknown aetiology, predominant affecting the anogenital area. There is no cure for the disease, but local steroid treatment with strong steroid is 1. Line treatment.
In our study we include women with clinical or biopsiverified Lichen Sclerosis, and the reason for participation is inappropriate effect or adverse effects of local steroid therapy.
