Biomarkers for diagnosing and monitoring inherited and rare cardiac disease

Short summary

We aim to investigate if specific genetic mutations causing functional and morphological changes of the heart muscle, affects certain heart specific proteins. The hypothesis is that genetic mutations cause changes in specific proteins and that these changes are measurable as biomarkers in the blood.

Description of the cohort

The cohort consists of patients with heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathies). Patients are recruited from Odense University Hospital, Aarhus University Hospital, Aalborg University Hospital and Vejle Hospital.

Data and biological material

Clinical data (date of diagnosis, symptoms, ECG, echocardiography etc.) from each patient is collected in a database, in addition to blood samples stored in a biobank.
