Short summary

The Odense University Hospital and Svendborg Sygehus offers annual influenza vaccination for all staff. Our study aims to identify some of the motivators and barriers that influenced the decisions regarding influenza vaccination.

Rationale

The University Hospital and Svendborg Sygehus offers free, annual influenza vaccination for all staff. However, a large percentage of the staff remains unvaccinated. Our study aims to identify some of the main motivators and barriers that influenced the decisions regarding influenza vaccination.

A questionnaire was sent out using REDCap as data collection tool. In January 2019 the survey was sent via work mail for all staff. Data were collected anonymously on overall place of work, overall position, influenza vaccination history, reasons behind individual decisions on vaccination, and attitudes towards the hospitals ongoing vaccination. The questionnaire contains both closed-ended questions and optional free-text responses.

Description of the cohort

All staff working at Odense University Hospital and Svendborg Sygehus. 

This includes all staff (e.g. health care staff, techs, theraphists, administrative staff, food service, environmental service etc.)  

Data and biological material

Questionnaire distributed anonymously via work mail.
