Since the initiation of The Danish colorectal cancer screening program in 2014, no study has evaluated the findings of the surveillance colonoscopies and the surveillance intervals. We hypothesize that adherence to the national guidelines is poor, citizen acceptance is low and the number of pathological findings is low.
The Danish colorectal cancer screening program was initiated in 2014. With the recommended intervals for surveillance, it is estimated that surveillance coloscopies will account for 50% of the screening-related colonoscopies in 2025, however international studies suggest that the surveillance intervals are too narrow.
Until now, no study has evaluated the results from the screening program since it was initiated. We hypothesize that adherence to the national guidelines is poor, citizen acceptance is low and the number of pathological findings is low, which is the aim of this study to examine through journalopslag (engelsk?).
All Danish citizens who have sent in a positive stool test in 2014, and subsequently having been diagnosed with high- or low- risk adenomas.
Register data of endoscopic findings from patient files.
