Effekten af Binge Eating Disorder (BED) behandling

Short summary

The project evaluates the efficiency of cognitive group psychotherapy of Binge Eating Disorder. A total of nine groups and 72 patients are included in the study over a three-year period. The aim of the project is to provide evidence of cognitive group psychotherapy of Binge Eating Disorder in order to improve treatment methods in the field. Currently, there is very little data on Binge Eating Disorder treatment.


Rationale

The background for the present project is to provide evidence of cognitive group psychotherapy of Binge Eating Disorder. Currently, there is very little data on Binge Eating Disorder treatment, and the project aims to improve treatment methods in the field. A total of nine groups and 72 patients are included in the study over a three-year period. Patients are evaluated at intake (pre-treatment), completion (post-treatment) and follow-up (three monhts after completion). Patients follow a structured treatment manual for group therapy, and are evaluated on reduction of Binge Eating Disorder symptoms.

The cohort consists of 72 adults suffering from Binge Eating Disorder.
