Screening for cervical cancer in vulnerable pregnant women

Short summary

The purpose of this studie is to determine if pregnent patients neading extra care, non obstetric, in the pregnancy (vulnerable pregnant), is less likely to have followed the recommended national cervical screening program.

Rationale

Our initial thesis is; that pregnant patients with connection to the Familiecenter, OUH (Family Center, OUH), are among those patients that are less likely to follow the Danish national cervical screening program.

This studie is to determine whether this is the case or not.

Less screening in these patients would mean a higher risk of developing high grade dysplasi og cervical cancer, something which could have been detected and treated in early stages.

This specific group of patients is especially interesting, as they are already in contact with the department, gynecology and obstetrics. Furthermore they might be more motivated for intervention (screening) do to their pregnancy.

If this group is less likely to be screened, the prospect is to chance the initial screening modality, making it easier for these patients.

Description of the cohort
