Early mobilization of critically ill patients undergoing mechanical ventilation has been very limited in most international reports. In Denmark, the use of less sedation and early mobilization has been a cornerstone in Danish intensive care treatment. Especially in southern Denmark, there is a strong culture of early mobilization. This culture has never been described. The culture could be a contrast to international reports and recommendations, reporting less mobilization and longer time to first mobilization of critically ill patient
Data is collected retrospectively and anonymous from the critical care database (CIS) with a grapping tool (healthQ). Both systems developed by Daintel.
By having accurate data about time to first mobilization it is possible to determine the extent of mobilization of critically ill patients.
The project will include adult patients undergoing mechanical ventilation. Data collected will be gender, sex, severity scores.
Data will include time to first mobilization from admission, which mobilization: siting, walking etc. The number of mobilization the first five days.
All data is collected as anonymous register data.
