This study aims to survey anesthesiologists in the Nordic countries on ultrasound availability, clinical use, and skills training and assessment. An online cross-sectional survey will be conducted. The data will be analyzed descriptively and tested for significant relationships. The results, to be published and presented at conferences, may reveal widespread ultrasound use but a lack of standardized skills training and assessment, providing valuable insights for future research on clinical ultr
Over the past decade, ultrasound utilization has increased within anes- thesia and intensive care medicine, enhancing patient safety and diagnostic accuracy. However, the frequency of ultrasound usage and operator training in the Nordic countries remain unclear. This project aims to perform a survey on ultrasound avail- ability, daily clinical use, and how ultrasound skills are trained and assessed, among anesthesiologists in the Nordic countries.
Participants will be anesthesiologists with different experience levels, working in a department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care in Denmark-including the Faroe Islands and Greenland, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Inclusion will aim to include physicians from a broad range of hospital sizes.
