AcuteX: Impact of extreme weather events on acute hospital services

Short summary

Extreme weather events, including storms, floods, and heat waves are expected to become more common, also in Denmark, in the coming decades, due to effects of climate change. Such events are associated with more accidents happening and higher risk of existing health problems worsening, consequently prompting heightened demand for healthcare services, especially in acute hospital departments. In this study we will investigate the patterns of additional activity in Danish healthcare services
