The FRAME implementation study
Short summary
The FRAME implementation study aims to introduce a patient-reported outcome (PRO) questionnaire in the oncology outpatient clinic at Vejle Hospital. The PRO questionnaire is to be completed by the patient-and possibly their relatives-prior to the consultation with the physician, and is intended to help the patient prepare for the conversation. At the same time, the PRO questionnaire ensures that the patient's late effects and needs are included as part of the consultation agenda.
Rationale
PRO questionnaires have been shown to improve communication between physicians and patients and lead to better management of patient needs-provided they are used actively. Therefore, we aim to explore the factors that contribute to successful implementation, so that these insights can inform the further development and adaptation of the questionnaire for other diagnostic groups within the department.
Description of the cohort
In the initial phase, we are including colorectal cancer patients who attend consultations at the oncology outpatient clinic at Vejle Hospital.
