Cancer Clock - Crossing Sectors

Short summary

The study is a qualitative investigation based on interviews with nurses and patients at an inpatient ward for oncological terminal patients. Patients are interviewed before discharge and in a follow-up phone interview after returning home. Building on this work and further qualified by interviews with municipal nurses and oncology nurses, an intervention will be developed and tested with the aim of improving the patient-experienced coherence during the sector transition.

Rationale

The project aims to examine how transitions between oncological inpatient wards and municipalities currently function and explore ways to improve these challenging transitions.

Description of the cohort

- Patients being discharged from hospital to home. - Nurses working at two different oncological inpatient wards (common and palliative). - Municipal nurses.
