This project examines women's sexual experience 1-5 years after posterior colporrhaphy, with or without perineoplasty, compared to anterior colporrhaphy. Patients will be identified via EPJ procedure codes and invited to complete the validated ICIQ-VS questionnaire.
Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is common among parous women. Posterior colporrhaphy is frequently performed and may affect sexual function. Perineoplasty may improve anatomical support but increase dyspareunia. This study investigates sexual experience 1-5 years after posterior colporrhaphy with or without perineoplasty, compared to anterior colporrhaphy, using the ICIQ-VS questionnaire.
Women who underwent colporrhaphia posterior (with or without perineoplasty) or anterior colporrhaphy at Svendborg Hospital between 2020-2024. Exclusion criteria: prior POP surgery or concomitant surgery involving other compartments.
No biological samples. Data will be extracted from the electronic patient record (EPJ) using NOMESCO codes (KLEF03 and KLEF00). Variables include surgery type/date, BMI, smoking status, parity, and ASA score. Patient-reported outcomes on sexual experience will be collected via ICIQ-VS in REDCap.
