OPSPOR: Om sværhedsgrad af psykisk lidelse hos politiveteraner med psykotraumer / TRACE : The severity of psychiatric disorders in police veterans with psychological trauma.

Short summary

A systematic documentation project investigates the prevalence and severity of PTSD and other mental disorders among former police officers exposed to traumatic events in the line of duty. The project is conducted by clinical psychologists from the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine in collaboration with Light4Blue. Participants are assessed via clinical interviews and questionnaires, often at home due to significantly reduced functioning.

Rationale

The documentation project originates from a collaboration with the non-profit organization Light4Blue, which was founded by former police officers in Denmark. Light4Blue's mission is to improve the lives of injured police officers and their families. Through the organization's work, a selected patient group has been identified, whose severity of mental health conditions may not previously have been systematically documented.

Description of the cohort

Former police officers who have experienced traumatic events in the line of duty. Participants are referred to the clinic through the organization Light4Blue.

Data and biological material

The assessments are based solely on data from clinical interviews, questionnaire surveys, and medical records.
