Short summary

This project brings the patient in focus. We evaluate, quantitively and qualitatively, what patients with liver cirrhosis whish from their department of hepatology.

Rationale

This project focuses on

1) Patient education - written information and patient school

2) Palliative efforts

3) Tailoring clinical efforts to suit the patients whishes and specific disease etiology and course

We start off by asking the all 300 patients in our outpatint clinic what they think of their current clinical management, with specific questions on the mentioned 3 points.

Afterwards we will conduct interwievs with 25 participants to get a more detailed description of the patients' needs.

In the next study phase we will implement patient requirements in a manner that will take in to account new tecnologies and the practical issues.

Lastly we will evaluate the implemented changes and consider them for permanent use.
