Randomized comparison of eligible TAVI-valves - The Compare-TAVI trial

Short summary

Transcutaneous Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) is a method where an artificial heart valve is implanted through a groin or an arm artery, instead of conventional surgery. TAVI is the routine treatment for in-operable and high-surgical risk patients, and is increasingly used in patients with low and intermediate surgical risk. The current trial compares various TAVI-valves head-to-head

Rationale

A high number of different TAVI-valves are used. There is limited head-to-head comparisons of these valves. Tha aim og this study is to compare TAVI-valves head-to-head and ensure long-term-follow-up

Description of the cohort

1062 patients are randomized to either sapien or myval TAVI-valve. All-comer study

Data and biological material

Clinical data inclusive HCT, MRI and ECHO up to 10 years following the procedure
