Assesment of tensile strenght and histological features of cerebral aneurysms.

Short summary

It is still unknown why some cerebral aneurysms rupture, while the majority don't. The present project aims at assessing histological features and wall tensile strengh in both ruptured and unruptured aneurysms. We will explore the differences between the two kinds of aneurysms.

Description of the cohort

Patients are prospectively included the the departments of Neurosurgery at Rigshospitalet and Odense University Hospital

Data and biological material

Aneurysm wall from both ruptured and unruptured cerebral aneurysms are harvested during microsurgical clipping. The tissue are examined in respect to wall tensile strengh, histological features and proteomics.
