Delayed breast reconstruction with latissimus dorsi flap or thoracodorsal artery perforator flap - a comparative study of complications, shoulder function and quality of life.

Short summary

1) The main outcome of this study is comparison of the shoulder and arm function for LD and TAP flap breast reconstructed patients using the DASH questionnaire.

2) Comparison of quality of life using BREAST-Q between the LD and TAP flap breast reconstructed patients.

3) Comparison of long-term surgical results and complications between the LD and TAP flap breast reconstructed patients.


Rationale

The aim of this study is to compare the long term outcomes and complications following delayed breast reconstruction with the LD flap and the propeller TAP flap.

300 women with delayed breast reconstruction using a LD or TAP flap
