The aim of this study is to support empowerment in stroke survivors and their significant others within stroke rehabilitation and everyday life by development, test and evaluation of an ICT solution supporting coherent person-centred rehabilitation.

Rationale

User involvement has shown to increase empowerment and autonomy, and to be beneficial for rehabilitation outcome. Moreover, information and communication technology (ICT) has the potential to be an alternative and supplement to existing stroke rehabilitation. However, many ICT solutions do not support a person-centred and coherent cross-sectional rehabilitation. The aim of this study is to support empowerment in stroke survivors and their significant others within stroke rehabilitation and everyday life by development, test and evaluation of an ICT solution supporting coherent person-centred rehabilitation.

Description of the cohort

Stroke survivors in need of a rehabilitation process, significant others, and occupational- and physiotherapists working with stroke rehabilitation across different sectors.

Data and biological material

Patient diagnosis, stroke severity, age, gender, experiences with stroke rehabilitation and use of ICT, input for an healt app solution (Mit Sygehus) as well as the use of Mit Sygehus. Significant others relation to the stroke survivor, age, gender, experiences of stroke rehabilitation, input and use of Mit Sygehus. Therapists age, occupation, experiences of stroke rehabilitation, and input to and use of Mit Sygehus.
