Risikostratificering af pulmonale noduli og malign outcome hos patienter henvist i lungepakke

Short summary

With this project we wish explore the cancer prevalence in patients where the "Herders risk model" is used to calculate risk of lung cancer. Furthermore we wish to investigate the correlation between the calculated risk and the final diagnosis.

Rationale

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths world wide. In early curable stages, the disease is often limited to small lung lesion seen on scans. These lesions are difficult to evaluate and can be malignant aswell as benign. Currently different risk model are used to calculate risk of malignancy. These models are used to determine if a patient should undergo invasive diagnostic procedures. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between calculated risk assessment and malignant outcome.

Description of the cohort

Patient undergoing examination in the diagnostic pathway for lung cancer, with lesion between 9 - 20 mm and a risk above 10 % using the Brock risk model.
