Quality of life and level of posttraumatic stress disorder among trauma patients: A long-term followup

Short summary

With this study, we want to investigate the level of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), secondary QoL, in patients treated for major trauma. Since most studies primarily evaluate on QoL and few studies have shown an increase in the prevalence of psychological outcomes, focusing on the symptoms of (PTSD), we want to investigate the level of PTSD, secondary QoL, in patients eight years after the trauma and six years after the first follow-up.

Rationale

To conduct a follow-up on the Danish study "Quality of life and level of post-traumatic stress disorder among traume patients - A comparative study between a regional and a university hospital" and investigate the level of PTSD among the patients eight years after the trauma and six years after the first follow-up. A secondary aim is to assess the QoL among the patients to compare with the results from the first follow-up.

Description of the cohort

Trauma patients at Kolding Hospital and Odense University Hospital in 2013. 455 patients. Same cohort as the main study.

Data and biological material
