Immune response following vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 in patients with immunodeficiency

Short summary

Immune response following vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 in patients with immunodeficiency

Rationale

Background Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is characterized by poor immune response and a reduction in isotype switched memory B-cells. This is suspected to cause severe and prolonged infections in CVID patients by the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). All CVID patients have been offered early COVID-19 vaccinations; however, it is not clear whether this is sufficient for them to mount an effective immune response required for protection against viral infection.

Aim: The objectives of this study is to investigate the immunological response towards SARS-CoV-2, exposure to immunoglobulins and/or COVID-19 vaccination as well as the amount of neutralizing antibodies in immunoglobulin products.

Description of the cohort

In the present study, we aim to include all CVID patients, 18 years or older, followed for care by the Department of Infectious Diseases
