Lasertreatment of lichen sclerosus in vulva

Short summary

Pilot study on the effect of CO2 laser on the skin disease

Rationale

We want to remedy burning, itching, irritation and delicate, cracked skin in the vulva which is part of the disease picture of lichen sclerosus, a chronic skin disease. In some of these women, local hormone therapy (steroids, estradiol) has not had the desired effect and / or sex hormone therapy has not been desired. We want to be able to provide laser treatment to women who cannot or will not use local estrogen treatment or where this has proved inadequate. We want to be able to test whether this form of treatment with laser can improve the genes by thinning vaginal mucosa (atrophy), on sexual function and overall quality of life.

Description of the cohort

40 women with vulvar lichen sclerosus

Data and biological material

Validated questionaires ICIQ-UI SF, 2) ICIQ-OAB , PISQ-12 , PGI-I, PGI-S and photo documentation
