Neonatal Homecare supported by telemedicine

Short summary

Neonatal homecare (NH) provided with home visits from neonatal nurses can minimize the duration the time preterm infants spend in the hospital, however, for hospitals covering large regions, home visits may be challenging, time consuming and expensive and alternative approaches must be explored. The aim of this study is to investigate whether NH supported by telemedicine can be an alternative to ordinary NH with home visits.

Description of the cohort

Patients included in this study is healthy preterm infants only dependent on tube feeding parallel to establishment of breastfeeding admitted to the neonatal unit at H.C. Andersen Children's Hospital and their parents.

Data and biological material

Data that will be gathered from questionnaires:

It will be demographic data from parents of the preterm infants.

From infants' data regarding weight, length, gestational age, diagnoses and nutrition will be gathered.

A questionnaire will be sent to the parents when their infants is discharged, further a questionnaire regarding infant nutrition will be sent to the mothers at infant age 1 and 4 months corrected age.
