Internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety and depression: Predicting (non-)completion and identifying when and how symptoms change during treatment

Short summary

This project aims to establish a predictive model for dropout in internet-based treatment for depression and anxiety. Further, we will examine trajectories of symptom change during treatment. All analyses utilize data from the routine care clinic 'Internetpsykiatrien'.

Rationale

Many cases of anxiety and depression do not receive adequate treatment despite the existence of effective treatment options. Internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) is one way to help bridge this gap. Research has shown that effects of iCBT are comparable to regular CBT. However, iCBT often has high dropout rates, and we do not know much about which patients benefit from treatment.

Description of the cohort

Patients in psychologist-guided internet-based psychological treatment for depression or anxiety at 'Internetpsykiatrien'.

Data and biological material

Questionnaire data and program usage data from the online platform used by Internetpsykiatrien.
