Kirurgisk behandling af smerter ved kronisk pankreatitis i DK
Short summary
This study based on national registries will identify patients diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis.
Rationale
The aim of the study is to investigate the surgical treatment of chronic pancreatitis. Some of the patients with chronic pancreatitis have pain that is not well treated with strong painkillers. The pathophysiology behind the pain is not well known, but can among other things be from pseudocysts, obstruction or tumor like pancreatitis. Surgical treatment of these patients is rarely done in Denmark. Surgery is done less frequently than what is expected from international guidelines. We want to clarify how many patients getting surgical treatment and with which technique.
Description of the cohort
The population is defined by all patients registered in LPR with the diagnosis chronic pancreatitis from 1/1-2013 till 31/12-2022
Data and biological material
Data from the national registries
