KOVA - Kvalitet i Ovariecancer behandling efter indførelse af internationale kvalitetsindikatorer

Short summary

The European Society for Gynecologic Cancer has defined indicators for Ovarian Cancer Treatment but it is unknown whether these indicators reflect quality assessed as progression free and over-all survival. In this study we collect data on quality in treatment and survival in patients treated at danish centers. Data will be compared to those obtained in other European cancer centers.

Rationale

Ovarian Cancer is often advanced at the time of diagnosis and patients need treatment with cytoreductive surgery and chemotherapy. Despite this extensive treatment the majority of patients suffer from recurrence and a bad prognosis. Quality indicators for optimal treatment have been defined in Europa but it is unknown wheter these indicators reflect quality in terms of survival. This study aims to evaluate quality of treatment provided for ovarian cancer patients in Denmark. The results will be compared to those obtained at other european cancer centers.
