Using processing improvement models to increase research productivity

Short summary

The challenge of waste in medical research arises from the considerable resources allocated to this field each year, all of which contribute to the benefit of our patients. OUH is committed to diminishing waste in research processes to enhance research productivity and quality through the utilization of the Model of Improvement. This PhD project aims to investigate the effectiveness of this approach. It comprises three sub-projects involving both qualitative and quantitative data.

Rationale

The aim of this PhD is to assess the effect of the implementation of the Model of Improvement at all research departments of Department of Clinical Research at University of Southern Denmark and Odense University Hospital. The purpose is therefore to investigate whether this has been done in previous studies, investigate the motivation among researchers when implementing the Model of Improvement, and to assess the effect of implementing the Model of Improvement.

Description of the cohort

The patients in this project are the researchers affiliated with the Clinical Institute and Odense University Hospital.
