Patella Instability Database

Short summary

A dislocated patella is firstly treated conservatively with rehabilitation to regain stability. If this treatment is unsuccessful and the patella dislocates again og produces patella instability symptoms then an operation is an option. This project will prospectively collect multicentre data on patients treated with operation for patella instability with questionnaries and functional tests.

Rationale

No studies with longterm follow-up can tell us how patients with surgical treated patella instability are doing postoperatively. This is a multicentre prospective cohort study that continuously will collect data from these patients through knee specific questionnaries and functional tests.

Before the surgery the surgeon will fill out a specific form regarding type of luxation, radiology information, type of operation etc.

Description of the cohort

Patients with surgically treated patella instability

Data and biological material

Age, sex, job, activities, level of function, sports, questionnaries, information about the injury and test of knee function, radiology.
