Addiction Treatment in Greenland

Short summary

The dataset consists of patient-related data from the national addiction treatment service in Greenland. The dataset contains data from three different databases: the visitation database, the ASI-database and the treatment database. The databases hold information from Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT), Drug Use Disorder Identification Test (DUDIT), questionnaire for gambling, Addiction Severity Index (ASI) and the treatment given.

Rationale

The purpose with these data is to do a study of the addiction treatment service and the characteristics of the addition and the people in treatment in Greenland.

The dataset derives from the national Greenlandic addiction treatment service. It contains data from three different databases: the visitation database, the ASI-database and the treatment database. The data is collected at three points in times in the addiction treatment progress. When a citizen is referred to addiction treatment, a visitation form is submitted, and the person is tested for addiction using the tests:  Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT), Drug Use Disorder Identification Test (DUDIT) and a questionnaire for gambling. The data generated from the tests and forms are used in the visitation database. If the tests show sign of addiction the citizen is referred to treatment. Before the treatment is initiated the counselor and the citizen maps the extent of the addiction using the Addiction Severity Index (ASI) and this data is what constitutes the ASI database. Finally, when the treatment is finished the progress is submitted to the treatment database.

Description of the cohort
